I entered a story conest=)

Hello!

I entered a 500 word writing contest at Go Teen Writers!!!

Here is my story!

It has no title.....

I stood at the window, watching the delivery truck drive away.  As soon as it was out of site, I looked at the label on the box I had just gotten.

From: Peter Walsh, Mongolia

To: Stefani Walsh, Washington U.S.A.

Mongolia?  NO WAY!  What could Peter be sending me?  I thought.

Peter was my 21 year old brother who was on a Missions trip to Mongolia.  He had been gone for 7 months.

I quickly pulled my Phone out of my pocket.

Hannah!  Come quick!  I just got a package from my brother!  I texted to my best friend.

I quickly got a reply.

Brother?  The one in Mongolia?

YES!

Hold on!  I’m half way there!!!

I waited for Hannah to show up.  The minuets seemed like hours.

Finally the door burst open.  Hannah rushed in.

“Come on!  What are you waiting for?  OPEN THE BOX!  I can’t believe you waited for me!  Hannah said, sitting down.

“Okay!  But I can’t figure it out…  Why did he send me a package???”

“Opening it might give a clue, silly.”  Hannah said laughing.

So I did.  The first thing I noticed was a piece of paper.  I grabbed it.

I know you would never expect to get anything from me like this but I got a chance to surprise you. I know that you probably have Hannah standing next to you and if you don’t, call her and tell her to come over.  Inside there are two packages.  One is for you (the one that is wrapped in green) the other one is for Hannah.  Open those and you will both find envelopes in the bottom.  Call me using the number on this number {(***)-***-****} and then open them.

Your brother,

Peter

“Okay….  That didn’t really make sense…  Hannah here is your box.”  I said handing the other package to her; it was wrapped in pink paper.  Then I grabbed mine.

I heard a squeal from Hannah.

I glanced over to where she was standing.  She was holding up a red robe and twirling around.  Then she bent over and picked up a necklace out of the box.

“Your brother is the best in the world!  I-love-him-I-love-him!!!” She said, clapping her hands.

I opened my box.   There was a beautiful blue robe on top; there was a set of earrings too.

I handed the robe to Hannah.

I looked in the bottom of the box.  There was the envelope.

“Hannah, quiet down I need to call Peter!  I’ll let you purpose later.“  I said dialing the number that was on the letter.

“Hello?  Stef’ is that you?” A voice came over the phone.

“Yes it is!  What’s going on?”  I asked.

“Open the envelope.”  Was the only answer.

I did.  There was a plane ticket!

“MONGOLIA!  YOU SENT ME A TICKET FOR MONGOLIA???” I squealed into the phone.

“Yes.  You and Hannah are coming to Mongolia for my wedding.”

“Hannah, you’re too late.  He’s getting married.  And we are going to Mongolia!”

Honor your hero!

Hi everyone!

I got this great idea!  Honor your hero on blogger!  I've got more than one hero......  But hey!  The more the merrier!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'll do the rest later:-D

The Rules:
1.  Write some facts on your blog on the hero of your choice.
2. Give one reason why you chose that paticular person.
3.  Make up an award for your hero (Ex.  Honoring George Washington for the courage he had and standing up for the land he belived in.  Thank you.)
4.  Tag 5 friends
5.  Tell them they have to do it with the hero of their choice.
6. Have fun!

Okay!  My turn first!

Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon.  He was brave to take that first step.  I get teary eyed every time I think of his first words on the moon, "It's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."  Here it is in his own words.

Sometimes I wish I would have been born in that great time for America.  The idea of the first man on the moon is still as amazing to me now, as it was the very first time I heard of it.
PhotoFrom right to left it's the brave and daring crew of Apollo 11: Armstrong, Micheal Collins, and Buzz Aldrin.

Michael Collins, President George W. Bush, Armstrong, and Aldrin during celebrations of the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 11 flight, July 21, 2004

Here is a link that touches me from Wikipedia:
The landing on the surface of the moon occurred at 20:17:39 UTC on July 20, 1969.   When a sensor attached to the legs of the still hovering Lunar Module made lunar contact, a panel light inside the LM lit up and Aldrin called out, "Contact light." As the LM settled on the surface Aldrin then said, "Okay. Engine stop," and Armstrong said, "Shutdown." The first words Armstrong intentionally spoke to Mission Control and the world from the lunar surface were, "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." Aldrin and Armstrong celebrated with a brisk handshake and pat on the back before quickly returning to the checklist of tasks needed to ready the lunar module for liftoff from the Moon should an emergency unfold during the first moments on the lunar surface.  During the critical landing, the only message from Houston was "30 seconds", meaning the amount of fuel left. When Armstrong had confirmed touch-down, Houston expressed its worries during the manual landing as "You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again".

Thank you Mr. Armstrong for being my hero.

Now for five people!!!!

I don't have time right now to make an honor award, but I will!!!!!!

Love,
Maddie

Sadness~

Hello.

This is a slightly sad day...  At least for me....  My hero Neil Armstrong died:-(
When I was 11, I was an Apollo 11 adict.  I LOVED the story of the first man on the moon.  Neil Armstrong was my hero.  I wanted to be an Astronuat for so long!  I wrote a 6 page report on the moon mission of Apollo 11...
Neil Armstrong died at the age of 82, so he had a very full life:-)

Bye guys!  And I'm sorry about this not being a very exciting post.....

SORRY!

Hello folks!

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging!  I'm a slacker.  We've been super busy!  You know...  Summer stuff...

I want to thank those who have been awarding me!!!  I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to post those for a bit...

It was my sister Sadie's birthday on the 12th!  She is now 9 years old:-)   She got a doll with red hair, blue eyes, and the dolls name is (drum roll please)....... Sadie!  Ha ha ha:-)  It's Sadie's dolly twin:-D

Yesterday we went swimming with a few friends we don't hang out with very often.  It was super fun!  Our friend has a boat so we got to do a few water sports!  My dad went Wake-Boarding.  It's kinda like skate boarding except the board is wider:-)  The wife of the guy who owns the boat tried water skiing, and then did the knee-board:-)  And my siblings and I (and a few others) inter tubed!!!  does everybody know what a barrel looks like when it's rolling down a hill?  Well,  when you crash on an inter tube, you roll across the watter.  Like a barrel!

Okay.  Today was the first day of our county fair!  I entered 3 necklaces and 3 photos.  I got 3 blue ribbons for my necklaces and for my best piece a "best in class" award!  I was freaking out because I couldn't stand the suspense!  Well...  I did okay in the beading division!!!!  And then came the photography:-D  Now, I couldn't wait to see if I did good in photography....  BUT.  I was scared because if I did so good in beading, how would that effect my pictures?  As it turns out, it didn't effect my photos that much because I walked away with a 2nd place ribbon!!!  YAY!  This has been a really good year!

I'll try and post the pictures I entered on here sometime!!!

Bye!
